Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year experience in administrative services.

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Executive Administrative Assistant, this position will be responsible for providing secretarial services to all morgue operations personnel including the pathologists and administrative staff.
Overview:
Duties:
- Maintains an organized filing system of paper and electronic documents relating to the Office of the Medical Examiner.

Maintains the chain of custody in the maintenance and transfer of evidence and documentation (including but not limited to photographs, case reports, death certificates, and microscope slides).

Performs secretarial duties for pathologists and administrative staff, as required.

Answers telephones and records messages.

Performs other related duties as required or requested.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Basic accounting and business principles.

Medical terminology.

Conflict de-escalation.
Skill in:
- Microsoft Office products.
Ability to:
- Perform transcription and type documents quickly and accurately.

Communicates and interacts effectively and professionally with internal stakeholders, medical staff, police, visitors, etc.

Display sensitivity and empathy when interacting with grieving families.

Prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills.
Residency: Allegheny County within 1 year.
