Job Summary
A caring and dependable Driver Attendant for Brighten Adult Daycare in Brownsville, providing support with mobility, personal care, feeding, and hygiene while ensuring each participant’s safety and comfort. Engages clients in daily activities, offers companionship, and adapts tasks to individual needs. Maintains accurate documentation, follows medication and emergency procedures, collaborates closely with staff and families, and ensures safe, attentive transportation to and from the center.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Participants: Provide support and assistance to adults attending the day care center. This may include helping with mobility, personal care, and other daily activities.
- Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of participants at all times. Be aware of their whereabouts and follow emergency procedures (e.g., fire drills, lockdown drills).
- Activities: Assist with organizing and participating in daily activities, such as arts and crafts, games, exercise, and social interactions.
- Special Skills: Work with participants who have special needs or unique skills. Tailor activities to their abilities and interests.
- Companionship: Engage in conversations, listen to participants, and provide emotional support.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, activities, and any incidents.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with other staff members, healthcare professionals, and family members to ensure holistic care.
- Hygiene and Nutrition: Assist with toileting, feeding, and other personal care tasks as needed.
- Medication Management: Follow protocols for administering medications to participants.
- Transportation: If required, accompany participants during transportation to and from the center.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with adults with special needs or disabilities.
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
