Job Summary

Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct oral health assessments and document findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, dietary choices, and preventive care strategies to promote long-term oral health
- Take and develop diagnostic radiology images (X-rays) ensuring patient safety and adherence to radiation safety protocols
- Maintain strict medical documentation standards, including recording patient conditions, treatment plans, and progress notes with clarity and precision
- Ensure compliance with health education standards and participate in ongoing training such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
- Handle manual tasks such as patient positioning, instrument sterilization, and clinic equipment handling with care and precision
- Support acute care situations by applying critical care experience when needed to stabilize patients or manage emergencies
Skills
- Proven experience in dental hygiene with a strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Critical care experience that enhances ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR/EHR) management systems for accurate documentation and data retrieval
- Excellent client communication skills to educate patients clearly about their oral health needs and treatment options
- Knowledge of medical documentation
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) and CPR confidently to ensure patient safety at all times
- Experience with manual handling techniques for patient comfort and safety during procedures
- Familiarity with clinic operations involving medical terminology, patient service protocols, and healthcare regulations
