A full-service electrical and underground utilities contractor is seeking a BIM/CAD Coordinator to join their growing team in Kinston, NC. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for someone with hands-on CAD or BIM experience who's ready to step into a department that's expanding and building out its drafting capabilities.
BIM/CAD Coordinator Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain 2D and 3D electrical models and drawings for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
- Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, and MEP models to identify and resolve conflicts
- Perform clash detection within the BIM environment and recommend field-ready solutions
- Generate construction drawings, shop drawings, and other project documentation from BIM models
- Assist with material takeoffs, electrical schedules, and project recordkeeping
- Support coordination meetings and provide technical assistance to project teams
- Maintain organized model files and update drawings as designs evolve through the project lifecycle
BIM/CAD Coordinator Requirements:
- 1-2+ years of CAD or BIM drafting experience; electrical focus preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting/modeling tools
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, not required
