Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Primary Montessori Teacher to inspire young learners in a vibrant, nurturing classroom environment. As a leader in early childhood education, you will design and implement engaging Montessori-based curricula that foster independence, curiosity, and a love of learning. Your role will involve guiding children through developmental milestones, promoting social-emotional growth, and ensuring a safe, inclusive space where every child can thrive. Duties:
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a fully functioning Montessori Primary classroom.
- Present Montessori lessons in Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, and Cultural Studies.
- Observe each child and thoughtfully guide their individual learning journey.
- Foster independence, concentration, and intrinsic motivation.
- Maintain accurate student records and observations.
- Create a peaceful, respectful, and joyful classroom community.
- Build strong, positive relationships with children and families.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
- Collaborate with school leadership and fellow staff members.
- Maintain classroom materials and ensure the environment remains organized and inviting.
- Follow all state licensing requirements and school policies.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
Qualifications:
Required
- Montessori Primary Certification (AMI, AMS, MACTE-accredited, or equivalent)
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience working in a Montessori Primary classroom
- Strong understanding of authentic Montessori philosophy and practice
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with families and colleagues
- Passion for supporting young children in a respectful learning environment
Preferred
- 2+ years of Lead Montessori teaching experience
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge of New Jersey childcare licensing requirements
- Experience with classroom record keeping and student observations

Pay: $35,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
