Overview
Akai Hana is an authentic Japanese Restaurant serving Wilmette neighborhood for over 30 years with traditional Japanese cuisine.
We are currently seeking a friendly and organized server (Front Cashier) to join our dynamic team in this very fast paced full service restaurant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while managing cash transactions and assisting with food preparation. This role is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests and ensuring smooth operations at the front of the house.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and guide them to their seats or assist them with their orders.
- Operate theToast POS systems efficiently to process transactions accurately.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Assist in food preparation and ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are met.
- Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including bussing tables and restocking supplies as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a full service or fast food restaurant is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices within the food industry.
- Culinary experience or kitchen experience is advantageous but not required.
- Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk around for certain amount of time
- Carry more than one item with your hands or on a tray
- Legal age to serve alcohol
Pay
- $9 PER HOUR PLUS TIPS. Our current servers make over $30 per hour.
Projected Total Compensation: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
