Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide patient care and assist in the implementation of treatment plans. Your role will be crucial in helping patients regain mobility, manage pain, and improve their overall quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the evaluation and assessment of patients' conditions
- Implement treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Provide hands-on therapy to patients, including exercises, stretches, and manual techniques
- Monitor and document patients' progress during therapy sessions
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for at-home exercises and self-care
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Skills:
- Hospital experience preferred
- Proficient in trigger point therapy techniques
- Strong patient care skills, with the ability to empathize and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of occupational health principles and practices
- Solid understanding of human anatomy and physiology
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation requirements
- Experience in acute care settings is a plus
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- CPR certification
