SIGN-ON BONUS: $3,000
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for providing alcohol and drug related counseling and case management for New Day Outpatient Services. Receives general supervision from the Senior Director of Outpatient Services.
1. Completes Biopsychosocial, chemical dependency, and substance use disorder assessments on all participants.
2. Develops master treatment plans that dictate treatment modality for the participant that allows for the most appropriate initial course of action.
3. Documents client-related treatment information in accordance with accepted client record management.
4. Provides substance use counselling services to participants in individual, group, and family capacities.
5. Coordinates all substance use treatment activities with other service activities within the Outpatient Adult Treatment Programs.
6. Participates as a team member on a multi-disciplinary treatment team. Provides input on participant’s treatment progress, as well as treatment recommendations and treatment planning updates.
7. Provides addiction related education to all assigned ancillary groups in Outpatient Adult Treatment Programs.
8. Completes discharge summary within 10 working days of participant’s discharge.
9. Ensures aftercare follow-up questionnaires are completed and tabulated in compliance with program policy.
10. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and New Day, Inc. administration.
11. This Licensed Addiction counselor may have multiple responsibilities working within the Drug Court system.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services field. Previous experience in Drug Court system preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various memos, reports, and documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from individuals and groups. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with an expanse of variables in various situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Licensed Addiction Counselor or license eligible within 90 days. Must maintain current certifications in Non-violent crisis intervention, CPR, and First Aid. Must have a valid Montana driver’s license with an insurable driving record.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. This position may require the use of safe, non-injurious physical interventions (in the scope of CPI training) to maintain safety.
