Duties
- Prepare and serve a range of non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee, tea, smoothies, and specialty drinks, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems such as SQUARE to process sales accurately and efficiently.
- Handle retail sales transactions with cash handling skills, including processing cash, credit cards, and mobile payments.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area by cleaning tables, counters, equipment, and food preparation surfaces in accordance with food safety standards.
- Assist customers with their orders, answer questions about menu items, and provide excellent customer service to enhance their experience.
- Follow proper food handling procedures during food preparation to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations.
- Support the team in food industry best practices related to food safety, beverage service, and general café operations.
Skills
- Previous experience with food service or café environments is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for smooth transaction processing.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests.
- Knowledge of non-alcoholic beverage preparation techniques and barista experience is a plus.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing sales totals accurately.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods.
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety at all times.
- Experience in food handling, beverage service, or drink service roles within the food industry is advantageous.
