Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pipefitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction and manufacturing environments, with a strong background in pipe installation, fabrication, and welding. This role involves reading blueprints, working with various hand and power tools, and ensuring all piping systems meet industry standards and safety regulations. The Pipefitter will play a vital role in constructing, installing, and maintaining piping systems across diverse projects, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine pipe layouts and specifications.
- Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair piping systems using appropriate materials such as sheet metal and ductwork.
- Perform welding tasks including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and <LOCATION> welding to join pipes securely according to ASME codes & standards.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and rigging equipment safely and efficiently.
- Measure pipes accurately using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools; perform pipe threading and soldering as required.
- Use crane or forklift for material handling while maintaining safety protocols on construction sites or manufacturing facilities.
- Conduct routine inspections of piping systems for leaks or defects; troubleshoot issues using mechanical knowledge and schematics.
- Follow safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to complete projects on time and within scope.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction site environments or manufacturing facilities as a Pipefitter or similar role.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, plasma cutting, and <LOCATION> welding techniques.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, ASME codes & standards, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, machining tools such as press brake machines.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes including sheet metal work, ductwork installation, pipe threading, soldering, and assembly.
- Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in using calipers, micrometers, schematics for troubleshooting and precision work.
- Experience working with cranes or forklifts for heavy lifting; valid certification preferred but not required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working at heights or confined spaces as needed. Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
