Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner, PA (Physician Assistant) to join our dedicated healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine appropriate care plans.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and emergency medicine.
- Perform procedures including suturing, IV insertions, catheterizations, spinal taps, dermal fillers, and esthetic laser treatments with precision and adherence to sterile techniques.
- Administer medications and injections while ensuring proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems like Epic and eClinicalWorks.
- Provide patient education on disease management, medication use, nutrition, and health coaching tailored to individual needs.
- Assist with complex diagnostic evaluations utilizing sonography, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and medical imaging techniques.
- Support telehealth consultations and triage services to extend care access beyond traditional settings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and post-acute care strategies.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure accurate medical documentation including CPT coding for billing purposes.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with certification as a Physician Assistant (PA) from an accredited program.
- Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; hospital medicine or emergency room experience highly preferred.
- Strong background in gastroenterology procedures like gastric lavage or tube feeding; familiarity with dermal fillers and esthetic laser treatments is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in performing advanced procedures such as spinal taps, venipuncture, catheterization, sterile processing techniques, and basic life support (BLS).
- Knowledge of ICD-9/10 coding standards along with CPT coding for accurate billing documentation.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), geriatrics (memory care), hospice & palliative medicine or individuals with developmental disabilities is desirable.
- Critical thinking skills combined with excellent patient assessment capabilities; ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations such as urgent care or Level II trauma centers.
