Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Food Pantry Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our community food pantry. This vital role involves managing staff and volunteers, developing and implementing programs to address food insecurity, and fostering strong relationships with community partners. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, and dedicated to making a positive impact by ensuring that individuals and families in need receive nutritious food and support. As a Food Pantry Manager, you will play a key role in creating an inclusive environment that promotes dignity, respect, and empowerment for all clients.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of pantry staff and volunteers to ensure efficient service delivery
- Develop, implement, and evaluate programs aimed at increasing access to nutritious food for underserved populations
- Manage pantry inventory, including ordering, storage, and distribution of food supplies while maintaining accurate records
- Build and maintain relationships with local food banks, community organizations, and donors to secure resources and support
- Oversee administrative tasks such as budgeting, reporting, compliance with health regulations, and record-keeping
- Provide guidance and support to individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs who utilize the pantry services
- Lead outreach efforts to promote the pantry’s services within the community and increase awareness of available resources
Requirements
- Proven management experience with supervisory responsibilities in a social service or program development setting
- Strong background in program management, including developing initiatives that serve diverse populations
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health challenges is highly desirable
- Excellent relationship management skills to collaborate effectively with community partners, donors, and clients
- Solid administrative experience with budgeting, record-keeping, and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices related to food security and community outreach
- Ability to lead a team with enthusiasm while maintaining a positive environment focused on service excellence
