Auto Collision Repair Estimator
We are looking for an experienced Auto Collision Repair Estimator to join our team.
This is not just a desk estimating position. We need someone who understands the full collision repair process and can help keep repairs moving from the initial estimate all the way through final delivery. The estimator plays a key role in making sure repairs are properly written, documented, approved, and completed correctly.
The right person for this position is organized, dependable, confident when dealing with insurance companies, and able to work closely with the production team, technicians, parts department, front office, and customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
As our Collision Repair Estimator, you will be responsible for writing accurate estimates, identifying all necessary repair operations, handling supplements, communicating with insurance companies, and helping make sure each repair file is properly documented.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Writing complete and accurate repair estimates using CCC ONE
- Inspecting vehicle damage and identifying all necessary repair operations
- Preparing, writing, and negotiating supplements with insurance companies
- Communicating professionally with insurance adjusters throughout the repair process
- Making sure repairs are properly documented with photos, notes, and supporting information
- Working with technicians to make sure required photos and documentation are completed
- Reviewing repair files to make sure the work being performed is properly supported and billed
- Ordering repair parts and monitoring parts status
- Helping handle parts returns, credits, and warranty issues when needed
- Working closely with the production manager to help keep vehicles moving through the shop
- Watching for delays, missing parts, missing approvals, or anything that could slow down production
- Communicating with the front office so customers receive accurate repair updates
- Helping maintain an organized workflow between the office, production team, technicians, vendors, and insurance companies
This position requires someone who can stay on top of multiple repair files at the same time without letting details fall through the cracks.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and understands that proper estimating, documentation, and communication are all part of doing a repair the right way.
A good fit for this position will be someone who:
- Has previous experience as a collision repair estimator
- Understands collision repair procedures and estimating
- Has experience dealing with insurance companies and supplements
- Is familiar with CCC ONE
- Understands the importance of OEM repair procedures and proper documentation
- Is organized and able to manage multiple vehicles at the same time
- Communicates clearly with insurance companies, technicians, office staff, and customers. Spanish-speaking ability is desired, but not required.
- Can work in a fast-paced environment while staying accurate
- Pays attention to details
- Is dependable, professional, and self-motivated
- Wants to be part of a long-term team, not just clock in and out
Experience with Mitchell or Audatex is also helpful, but CCC ONE experience is preferred.
Front Office Support
This position is mainly focused on estimating, supplements, documentation, parts, and production support. It is not meant to be a full-time front office position.
However, we do work as a team, so there may be times when the estimator helps with things like:
- Assisting walk-in customers
- Providing repair status updates
- Helping answer phones when the front office is busy
- Covering briefly during lunches, vacations, or unexpected absences
