Coyne Oil and Propane is seeking a motivated and reliable Mechanic to join our team. This is a great opportunity for individuals seeking to begin or continue their career as a mechanic at a privately held company. You'll be working on an internal fleet without the concern of a flat rate pay system commonly used in service shops. Additionally, you'll gain valuable knowledge alongside seasoned mechanics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between division leaders and the shop to schedule repairs and maintenance.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on vehicles and equipment.
- Assist with basic repairs and troubleshooting.
- Help with shop organization and cleanliness.
- Perform work in accordance with DOT safety standards and regulations.
- Assist with performing preventative maintenance and annual inspections on medium/heavy duty diesel and propane power units and trailers.
- Assist in parts procurement and inventory management.
Minimum qualifications:
- Basic mechanical skills and understanding of vehicle/equipment maintenance.
- Good communication skills to effectively interact with team members and management.
- Computer literacy, including experience with work order entry and parts procurement systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to other locations to perform work occasionally.
- Familiarity with shop tools and equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a mechanical or automotive environment
- Familiarity with tractor trailers and diesel motors.
Schedule:
- 7am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday, with 30-minute lunch breaks. Occasional weekend work may be required.
