Qualificatins:
Minimum, Bachelr's degree with a majr in special educatin,
- r a related field; masters preferred.
Hld a valid and current Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate (special educatin), Supervisin f Special Educati- n Certificate preferred.
Satisfactry wrk rec- rd & criminal/child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151), FBI clearances.
Five (5) r mre years f successful teaching experience in public educatin, including secndary r elementary schl – Special Educatin instructi- n.

Summary
Under the supervisin f the Directr f Special Educatin, the special educatin facilitatr will assist in the planning, crdinatin, and prgram delivery f special educatin at the schl and District levels in cnjunctin with ther educatrs, families, and students. In additin, the facilitatr will prvide direct and indirect supprt t students, parents, teachers and administratrs.
Essential Duties and Respnsibilities
Cmmunicates and cllabrates with staff, parents, cmmunity and advcates n issues pertaining t services f
- r students with disabilities;
Prvides guidance and supprt and technical assistance t special educatin prfessinals and schl administratrs regarding the technical cmpliance issues related t the placement f newly identified and cmparable pr- gram placement eligible students;
Prmtes apprpriate special educatin prgrams fr specific disabilities, including mental retardatin, emtinal disabilities, learning disabilities, auditry, visin, special educatin instructin, speech/language, physical disabilities, and autism with certified persnnel in th- se fields;
T supprt a respnse t interventin mdel including methds t supprt students within the Tier 4 – special educatin, level f the framew- rk;
Serves as a liaisn between special educatin and general educatin prgrams t supp- rt students with disabilities;
Assists in the mnitring f academic prgress - f students with disabilities;
Assists in the develpment f rsters and mnitring the enrllment in special educatin pr- grams;
Meets with staff, parents, and students fr the purpse f reevaluatin, IEP, and transitin planning and devel- pment;
Prvides training in current practices and strategies t administratrs, staff, parents, and students regarding special educatin laws and instructi- nal practices;
Wrks within a team prcess t facilitate a variety f frmal and infrmal assessment and prgress mnitring prcedures f- r students with disabilities;
Assists in the prvisin f disseminating infrmatin t families, students and staff abut transitin related educatin and services, and pst-high schl pti- ns;
Cnfers with teachers, students, and parents cncerning educatinal and behaviral prblems in sch- l;
Reads, analyzes, and interprets prfessinal jurnals, studies f best practices, and federal, state, and lcal regulati- ns;
Writes reprts, crrespndence, and prcedure manuals and mem- randa;
Presents infrmatin and respnds t questins frm grups f faculty, supp- rt staff, students, parents, and the general public; and
Perfrms such ther tasks and assumes such ther respnsibilities as may be assigned r delegated by the Directr f Special Educati- n;
