Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Farm Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of farm operations. This pivotal role involves managing daily farm activities, supervising staff, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the health and well-being of livestock and crops. Responsibilities
- Supervise farm staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient daily operations
- Oversee animal husbandry practices, ensuring proper care, feeding, health monitoring, and handling of livestock and equine animals
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment such as tractors, irrigation systems, power tools, welding tools, and heavy equipment
- Conduct routine inspections of the farm infrastructure, including fencing, greenhouses, irrigation systems, and buildings to identify maintenance needs
- Perform equipment repairs or coordinate with specialists for welding, mechanical repairs, or other technical services
- Manage growing activities including planting, harvesting, greenhouse operations, and crop rotation schedules
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and health regulations related to animal care and farm operations
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in a farming or agricultural setting with strong leadership skills
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair and maintenance
- Extensive animal husbandry knowledge including livestock care, handling techniques, and health management
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, tractors, and other farm equipment safely
- Familiarity with irrigation systems, horticulture practices, greenhouse management, and growing techniques
- Experience with animal handling procedures for various species including equines
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and basic math for measurements and calculations
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining records of farm activities and animal health
