Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards for 2nd grade students, emphasizing literacy education, math, and social skills.
- Create a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that promote respect and cooperation.
- Incorporate learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support students with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; valid state teaching certification for elementary education is required.
- Proven classroom experience working with 2nd grade students or early childhood education settings.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, literacy education, math instruction, and behavior management techniques.
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and working with learning technology tools.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment strategies for young learners.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and specialists.
- Demonstrated ability to work with children of diverse backgrounds, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Knowledge of private school teaching practices is a plus.
Pay: $28,000.00 per year
