GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Parts Assistant will act as a support team member to the parts department. They will aid in attaining the objectives set, using means such as appropriate purchasing policies, stock management, the involvement of the personnel, safety and price setting.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential job functions and duties include, but are not limited to:
Works with parts purchaser to locate any parts not in stock.
Completes special order parts requests for any parts that need to be ordered.
Researching and ordering of parts, take to the orders manager to order parts.
Keeping track of all inventory.
Assist with building estimates and repair orders.
Communicates with management and co-workers on the status of any parts ordered and notifies them upon delivery.
Maintains efficient communications within his/her department, as well as with other departments.
Maintain a safe working environment and used appropriate personal protective equipment.
Comply with company policies, safety regulations and legal guidelines.
Pick up parts from vendors and drop them off to mechanics in the field if needed.
Other duties may be assigned by Management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position no has supervisory responsibilities.
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the job:
Must have some automotive experience. Parts, Service Advising, Technician all acceptable. Must be organized and knowledgeable of basic computer skills.
Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team environment. Good communication skills, oral and written.
Time-management.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Valid current California Drivers' license.
Bilingual
▪ High school diploma or GED is preferred.
▪ Any combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to successfully perform the job.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
The essential functions of this job require the employee to perform the following physical activities during the course of work:
▪ Communicates orally with management, employees, co-workers, vendors, and the general public by telephone or in person, in one-on-one or group settings. ▪ Regularly uses a telephone. ▪ Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time during work shift. ▪ Routinely required to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, and reach, in the performance of job function. ▪ Requires the essential use of hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing. ▪ Spends time outdoors, exposed to potentially difficult environment conditions. ▪ Lifting limitations for this position: 30-50 lbs. ▪ Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus as needed. ▪ Must be able to pass random and required Drug and Alcohol Tests.
