The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Organizes, teaches, and leads various age groups in general organized recreation activities. Opens and secures facility; inspects playgrounds and maintains order in the facility by patrolling all areas of the park. Maintains and secures recreational equipment in park. Prepares sports facilities for organized recreational activities and completes closing procedures for each facility. Fills out accident reports, behavior reports, and other documents; records attendance for program. Renders first aid. Enforces all park rules, regulations, and City ordinances. Assists in set up, breakdown, and other duties for special events. Provides information and assistance to parents and the public. Maintains and cleans work area; empties trashcans. Attends staff meetings. Chaperones field trips; functions as trip supervisor during the summer.
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by a minimum three to six months previous experience and/or training involving recreational activities or any other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
