Payroll Specialist / HR Coordinator
This role supports our Maywood and Rancho Cucamonga offices.
We're a growing Dental Support Organization supporting multiple dental practices across Southern California, and we're looking for an organized, detail-oriented Payroll Specialist / HR Coordinator to join our team. In this role you'll make sure employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting HR administration, onboarding, compliance, and day-to-day employee questions.
What You'll Do
Payroll: Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule Audit timecards, overtime, meal periods, PTO, and sick leave Process bonuses, commissions, and wage adjustments Ensure compliance with California payroll and labor laws, including final paycheck rules Maintain payroll records and direct deposit information Prepare payroll reports and assist with reconciliations Coordinate year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation
Human Resources: Coordinate onboarding and offboarding for new employees Prepare new hire paperwork and maintain personnel files Assist with benefits enrollment and changes Track PTO, leaves of absence, and employee records Support workers' compensation and unemployment claims Assist with recruiting, interview scheduling, and hiring documentation Respond to employee questions on payroll, benefits, and HR policies Support HR projects and process improvements
What We're Looking For 2+ years of payroll experience Strong understanding of California labor laws and payroll regulations Excellent Microsoft Excel and Office skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information Strong written and verbal communication Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have Experience with ADP HR administration or coordination experience Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) Experience supporting multiple office locations Familiarity with HRIS systems and payroll integrations Dental or healthcare experience

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
