Travel Surgical Technologist

Job Details

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of experience for an Operating Room position at a hospital.

Hospital Operating Room setting
Shifts of 10-12 hours depending on facility needs
13-week assignment length
Facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military surgical technologist program
Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
Active state license required, if applicable
Candidates must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be considered

Function in the role of scrub person under the supervision of the surgeon and RN
Ensure OR environment is safe and equipment functions properly to maximize patient safety during invasive and diagnostic procedures
Apply expertise in surgical technique, human anatomy, and surgical procedures
Complete case carts according to preference cards and coordinate instrumentation with OR and sterile processing staff
Review daily schedules with charge nurse and sterile processing coordinator to identify turnover delays and scheduling issues
Manage core phone communications and coordinate breaks and lunches with team members
Serve as a resource for SPD and Surgical Services for procurement of supplies and instrumentation
Coordinate with materials management regarding supply utilization and deployment
