Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher Assistants to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role requires a strong understanding of childhood development principles and the ability to engage children in meaningful learning experiences. The Early Childhood Teacher will work closely with parents and staff to ensure each child's individual needs are met.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning through play and exploration.
- Manage classroom activities, ensuring a safe and positive environment for all students.
- Utilize effective behavior management strategies to guide children's behavior and promote positive interactions.
- Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and adapting teaching methods as necessary.
- Foster a love for learning by incorporating various subjects such as math, art, and literacy into daily activities.
- Provide care for toddlers, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met throughout the day.
- Collaborate with colleagues in a private school or preschool setting to enhance the educational experience for students.
- Implement Montessori principles where applicable to support independent learning among children.
- Stay in compliance with state minimum standards.
- Diapers/potty, help with snacks/lunch, and all other early childhood duties listed by the center.
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain an organized and engaging learning environment.
- Proficient in behavior management techniques that support positive child development.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices, particularly in early education settings.
- Experience in toddler care, understanding the unique needs of young children.
- Familiarity with working with children on the autism spectrum is a plus.
- Ability to integrate math concepts into everyday learning activities effectively.
- Experience in private school or preschool environments preferred.
- Understanding of Montessori methods is advantageous but not required.
