The Elementary Classroom Instructional Aide supports teachers in fostering a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young learners. This role involves assisting with early academic instruction, promoting positive behavior, and helping students build foundational skills in literacy, math, and social development.

Support the teacher in delivering lessons in reading, writing, math, and other core subjects

Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce basic skills and concepts

Assist students with classroom routines, transitions, and organization

Help model and reinforce positive behavior and social skills

Provide additional support to students who need extra help staying on task

Prepare and organize classroom materials, learning centers, and activities

Supervise students during recess, lunch, arrival, and dismissal as needed

Assist with monitoring and supporting student behavior in a positive, consistent manner

Communicate observations about student progress and needs to the teacher

Perform light clerical tasks such as copying, organizing materials, and basic grading

60 College hours, an active substitute certificate or teaching degree

Experience working with young children (elementary age) strongly preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with children

Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team

Basic computer and organizational skills

Knowledge of early literacy and numeracy development

Experience supporting diverse learners, including students with special needs

This position is in an elementary school classroom and involves frequent interaction with young children in a dynamic and active setting. We are looking for individuals who love kids, choose to have a great attitude every day and are willing work as part of a team!
