We are seeking full-time Operator Assistants to join our team. The Operator Assistant assumes essential responsibilities of storing, loading, and unloading commodities to/from trucks, containers, totes, and railcars and assisting in the operation, repair, and maintenance of vegetable oil refining equipment. The individual must maintain required operational and quality control records, ensure proper equipment operation, and adhere to safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming trucks, containers, and railcars and inspect the quality of the incoming product.
- Load outgoing trucks, totes, and railcars and pull representative retained samples.
- Become proficient in operating commodity scaling software.
- Commodity sampling and testing, including quality and GMO testing via manual probing.
- Maintain accurate records of product movements and storage.
- Complete all paperwork forms and checklists required for quality, loading, and unloading.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Gain proficiency in operating the following equipment: forklift, skid loader, site-truck and shuttle wagon.
- Perform cleaning and minor maintenance of facility and equipment.
- Understand the process flow of product from the crude vegetable oil to finished food grade product and develop familiarity with the process flow model and control system.
- Understand and assist with the operation of all equipment associated with the refining process, including centrifuge, filtration, and deodorizer.
- Understand and assist with the operation of all equipment associated with the utilities processes, including boiler, air compressors, cooling towers, and waste water system.
- Obtain in-process product samples at defined points in the production process to verify quality, as directed by the quality program. Based on test results, understand and assist to adjust production process as necessary to meet quality standards.
- Support the integrity of identity-preserved programs, such as Organic and Non-GMO.
- Assist maintenance personnel with equipment repairs, both routine and unscheduled.
- Maintain a safe and sanitary workplace with a high regard for food quality and employee safety.
Other responsibilities include:
- Assisting other employees with their duties as necessary.
- Assisting at the scale house facility as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in high spaces.
- Ability to work in confined areas.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Walking, standing, climbing, squatting, bending, lifting, and kneeling are all required aspects of the job.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently and under close supervision.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Employee should possess a positive attitude, work well with others, and maintain safe work habits.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment background and screening processes.
Shift Schedule:
- Overnight Shift - Sunday - Saturday - 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Must work every other weekend
- 12-Hour Shift Schedule

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
