Lead the Maintenance Function at a Brand-New Manufacturing Facility
An industry-leading manufacturer of consumer packaging is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to help launch and lead the maintenance organization for a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in North Las Vegas.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key leadership role in a startup operation, building maintenance systems, developing a high-performing team, and driving equipment reliability from day one. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-speed automated manufacturing environments such as plastics, packaging, food, beverage, bottling, or consumer packaged goods (CPG).
What You'll Do
As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance strategy, equipment reliability, and asset performance for the facility. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, and Plant Leadership, you'll ensure maximum equipment uptime while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all maintenance operations for production equipment and facility infrastructure.
- Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Manage corrective maintenance activities and ensure rapid response to equipment failures.
- Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and work order compliance through a CMMS.
- Partner with engineering teams during equipment installations, commissioning, and capital improvement projects.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for recurring equipment issues.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives including TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and reliability-focused projects.
- Manage maintenance budgets, parts inventory, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Develop, coach, and mentor maintenance technicians while building a strong safety-first culture.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Support long-term asset management strategies to improve equipment performance and extend asset life.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous supervisory or management experience leading maintenance teams.
- Experience supporting high-speed automated manufacturing operations.
- Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, and automated production equipment.
- Working knowledge of PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and industrial control systems.
- Experience utilizing CMMS software to manage maintenance activities.
- Demonstrated success implementing continuous improvement initiatives that increase uptime and reduce maintenance costs.
