We are looking for an experienced English Teacher to join our growing academic team. This position typically begins on a part-time basis, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and program needs.
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate English teacher with experience teaching middle school and/or high school English Language Arts (ELA) in a formal school setting.
This role includes teaching both small-group classes and one-on-one lessons, adapting instruction based on students' individual learning needs, and helping improve our English curriculum and instructional materials.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach middle school and high school English in both small-group and one-on-one settings.
- select appropriate instructional materials.
- Differentiate instruction based on each student's learning needs and goals.
- Adapt lessons and teaching materials to support students with varying skill levels.
- Help improve and update existing curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom resources.
- Monitor student progress and communicate with parents as needed.
- Collaborate with the academic team to maintain high instructional quality.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in English, English Education, or a related field.
- California Teaching Credential
- Minimum one year of classroom teaching experience in a middle school or high school.
- Experience teaching English Language Arts (ELA) in a formal school setting.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to assess students' academic levels and adjust instruction accordingly.
Preferred
- Experience with curriculum development and lesson planning.
- Current or former public or private school English teachers are strongly encouraged to apply.
Schedule
This position typically begins on a part-time basis, with opportunities to increase hours
Applicants should be available:
- Weekday afternoons and evenings (after-school hours)
- At least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday)
Flexibility is required based on student schedules.
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
