Work in a dynamic office environment during MCLA's orientation program Week of Welcome supporting and facilitating the successful transition of new students to MCLA. The 2026 Week of Welcome Staff will have a unique role of helping to support the program through the First-year Experience Office by helping with programs and events behind the scenes while getting to interact and connect with first-year and transfer students.
Job Requirements:
General Responsibilities:
The student will work as a support staff for office functions and logistics in preparation/implementation of Week of Welcome
Assist with day-to-day office projects when necessary, including data entry, mailings, bulletin board postings, filing, answering phones, copying and general staff support.
Provide support as a front-end customer service representative.
Prepare, distribute, and collect packets of college materials for each group.
Assist with check-in and check-out processes as well as other duties as part of the execution of new student check-in
Be a point of contact person to support the Peer Mentors
Support the FYE Planning Team with projects or tasks as assigned.
Office coverage and assistance as needed for other office personnel, including front end support.
Supporting the Week or Welcome programs including set up and break down; will include events in the evening and the weekends
Requirements:
A well-rounded knowledge of the MCLA campus, majors, academic support resources, and extracurricular activities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong computer and social media skills (Microsoft Office and other layout and design programs).
Strong Degree Works and Core Curriculum knowledge.
Good organizational skills and positive personality.
Ability to work with structure and independently and conduct themselves in a professional manner.
Conduct, academic standing, and history will be considered.
Must be available August 22 through September 2nd
Flexible work schedule: nights and weekend are required
Willingness to work in different campus settings: office, residence halls, campus center. This is not a remote eligible position.
Additional Information:
Former RA's and Peer Mentors would be ideal candidates for this position.
This position is open only to students currently enrolled at MCLA.
