Requirements of the Material Handler

Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred; experience as a warehouse supervisor is a plus
Proficiency in operating forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, and cranes
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise
Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes and order picking techniques
Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) regularly throughout the shift
Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and workplace safety
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual accountability

Responsibilities of the Material Handler

Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment to move materials throughout the warehouse
Load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems for accurate inventory tracking and order picking
Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring all products are handled with care
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure safe operation
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency
Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety guidelines related to materials handling
Participate in training programs to enhance skills in heavy equipment operation and warehouse management.
