York Day Early Learning is looking for a Closing Receptionist to join our team. This position will manage the front office during the pick-up operations of the Early Learning Center.
The hours for this position are 12:00pm - 5:45pm. This position MUST work until the Center closes at 5:30pm and all children in care have been picked up.
QUALIFICATIONS: At minimum, the afternoon receptionist will have a high school diploma or GED.
In addition to the above outlined educational requirements, the afternoon receptionist shall also have the following preferred skills or qualifications:
· Exceptional name-to-face recollection, as they must know all the children in the Center and their designated pick-up contacts.
· Ability to handle tuition payments, including those made by cash, check, and point of sale (POS) card payments.
· Experience working in an office setting, including incoming/outgoing phone management, greeting visitors and clients, and the ability to handle multiple interactions at once.
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Bilingual proficiency
The Closing Receptionist is also required to provide York Day Early Learning (YDEL) with documentation that they have obtained a National Sex Offender Registry clearance, an FBI fingerprint record clearance, a PA Child Abuse History clearance, and a PA State Police Criminal Record check clearance within 5 years of their first day of YDEL employment and again at least once every 5 years of renewal of each of these clearances.
The Closing Receptionist is also required to provide YDEL with documentation that they have obtained a staff health assessment and negative TB test result within 1 year of their first day of YDEL employment, and they will then be expected to renew their health assessment documentation as needed per Pennsylvania regulatory requirements.
GENERAL DUTIES: The Closing Receptionist, under the guidance of the Center Director, is responsible for providing support to the early learning center, specifically related to front office operations, including providing a positive first impression to those visiting or calling York Day Early Learning and collecting tuition payments.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Adhere to all policies and procedures as detailed in the YDEL employee handbook. Maintain and model, at all times, confidentiality requirements regarding students, staff, families, and community partners.
· Maintain a positive, professional attitude toward the YDEL program, YDEL students and families, and YDEL coworkers. Treat all children, families, visitors, community partners, and coworkers with dignity and respect.
· Greet families, staff, and visitors at the front desk and control entry into the building in line with outlined employee and family handbook policies. Provide prompt, pleasant, and professional interactions via telephone, including directing calls to and/or taking detailed messages for various members of center and leadership as needed. Communicate regularly in a positive and confidential manner with families regarding their experience at YDEL.
· Receive fees from clients, issue receipts, and follow established fiscal procedures.
· Perform general clerical duties as assigned, including making photocopies and filing.
· Assist as needed with daily housekeeping responsibilities in the front office and center common areas to ensure that all spaces are clean, orderly, and in working order.
· Perform additional duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Closing Receptionist must have reliable transportation to and from work. Receptionists must have the visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to hazards in their environment, must have the ability to identify and respond to clients and varying circumstances, must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time, and the ability to hear and speak with clients in person and on the phone.
