Qualifications:

HS diploma / GED

AS Degree preferred

HT/HTL preferred

Experience in Mohs or Histology lab required

Knowledge of CLIA and OSHA standards
Responsibilities:
The Mohs Surgeon performs all aspects of grossing specimens. The Mohs Histotechnician’s primary responsibilities include:

Recording the cases in Mohs Accession log
-
Relaxing, embedding, sectioning, H&E staining (linear stainer), and coverslipping slides.

Maintaining daily Quality Control logs in accordance with CLIA and OSHA standards
-
Performing daily equipment checks on all lab equipment
-
Filing and maintaining slides at the end of day
-
Proper disinfection of laboratory and equipment
-
Other duties as needed to assist the Mohs Surgeon and Mohs team (non-patient care)

Maintain all lab documentation as directed by CLIA regulations
