Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of building systems, including HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration), electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on appliances, HVAC units, refrigeration systems, and other mechanical equipment to ensure continuous operation.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints to diagnose problems accurately and execute repairs efficiently.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical failures using diagnostic tools and techniques, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Assist with construction or renovation projects by supporting installation or upgrade of equipment and systems as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and inspections completed for compliance and future reference.
- Lead or support team efforts during emergency repairs or system failures to restore normal operations swiftly.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in appliance repair, HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, and general equipment maintenance.
- Proven service technician experience with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues effectively.
- Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and blueprints for precise diagnostics and repairs.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems—air conditioning units, ventilation systems—and refrigeration technology is essential.
- Knowledge of construction practices related to installing or upgrading building systems or equipment.
- Leadership qualities that enable guiding junior team members or coordinating repair efforts during critical situations.
- Excellent communication skills for documenting work accurately and collaborating with team members or vendors.
