About the Role
CFS North America LLC is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to join our Operations team in Urbandale, Iowa. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role for someone who enjoys keeping the moving pieces of supply chain connected—from purchasing and inventory to demand planning, production coordination, logistics, and order fulfillment.
In this role, you will work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Product Management, suppliers, toll manufacturers, warehouses, and other internal teams to help ensure we have the right products available at the right time to meet customer needs.
The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift. You will need strong follow-through, attention to detail, and the ability to identify issues, communicate across teams, and help keep processes moving.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate purchasing and procurement activities for raw materials to support production schedules, inventory requirements, and customer demand.
- Support demand planning and forecasting by partnering with Sales and Product Management to align inventory with anticipated customer needs.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, identifying potential shortages, excess inventory, back orders, and slow-moving materials.
- Coordinate production schedules, inventory requirements, warehousing, and shipment timing with toll manufacturers.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments, transportation scheduling, and logistics activities.
- Work with suppliers on day-to-day purchasing activities, quotes, documentation, and new supplier onboarding.
- Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipts, Service Entry Sheets (SES), and other transactions within SAP.
- Perform monthly purchase order reconciliation and support monthly and annual inventory reconciliation and audit activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory, supplier, purchasing, and order information within SAP and other internal systems.
- Provide Sales and Customer Service with timely information regarding inventory availability, purchasing status, production schedules, logistics, supply constraints, and lead times.
- Support product costing and margin tracking by gathering and organizing operational and financial data.
- Prepare reports related to inventory, purchasing, orders, production, and vendor performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and strengthen operational consistency.
- Collaborate across Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Quality, Operations, and other teams to support efficient order fulfillment and a positive customer experience.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Management, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing, supply chain, operations, or other relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent, in-depth experience using SAP or a similar ERP system.
- Working knowledge of supply chain, purchasing, inventory management, operations, and customer service processes.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent planning, organization, and time-management abilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Ability to prioritize work based on business and customer impact.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of ownership and follow-through.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
What Will Help You Succeed
You’ll be successful in this role if you enjoy both the details and the bigger picture. We’re looking for someone who can manage day-to-day transactions and data accurately while understanding how purchasing, inventory, production, logistics, Sales, and customer commitments connect.
You should be comfortable asking questions, following up with others, solving problems, and taking initiative to keep work moving.
