Job Summary
To maintain and operate all aspects of the Frozen Food Department while providing leadership and support to the store team.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked Frozen Food Department.
- Receive and verify frozen deliveries, reporting shortages or overages to management.
- Properly rotate products, check dates, and remove out-of-code merchandise.
- Maintain accurate pricing, signs, and temporary price reductions.
- Monitor frozen cases and storage areas and report temperature issues to management.
- Control and properly handle damaged merchandise.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and assist with ordering.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain good customer relations.
- Assist with training and directing associates within the department.
- Learn and perform store opening and closing procedures.
- Become fully trained on the cash register, including assisting customers and performing register functions when needed.
- Assist management with daily store operations and provide leadership when needed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
Supplemental Job Functions
- Stock and transport product from storage to the sales floor.
- Maintain shelves, cases, and displays to ensure an attractive shopping environment.
- Assist other departments and store operations as needed.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Previous grocery or retail experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently and take direction.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be available to work as early as 6:00 AM, weekends, and opening/closing shifts.
- Ability and willingness to learn all aspects of store operations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and ladder climbing.
- Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen temperatures.
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Grocery Retail Stocker: 1 year (Preferred)
