Performs skilled work at the journey-level in the maintenance, installation, alteration, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. Performs electrical preventive maintenance. May assist with planning and reviewing the work of helpers. Assignments are given verbally or in writing and may be accompanied by sketches, blueprints, and diagrams. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through on-site inspections and observations of work in progress.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of experience as a journey-level Electrician.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:
- A valid Palm Beach County (PBC)/FL Electrician’s License OR Electrician’s License from another state or municipality OR ability to obtain a PBC/FL Electrician’s License within 12 months of appointment (Copy of License must be uploaded to online application by 5:00 P.M. on the closing date).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with high-voltage maintenance or power generation systems,
- Experience with computerized energy management, programmed logic controls, or distribution controls,
- Experience operating bucket trucks, and
- Electrician Apprenticeship program training.
