Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cashier/Stocker to join our team. In this dual role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service at the checkout while also ensuring that our store is well-stocked and organized. This position requires a blend of customer interaction and inventory management skills, making it essential for maintaining a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers and handle customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Assist customers with inquiries and provide exceptional service to enhance their shopping experience.
- Stock shelves with merchandise, ensuring products are displayed neatly and in accordance with store standards.
- Utilize RF scanners for inventory control, tracking stock levels, and managing product placement.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including aisles, checkout areas, and storage spaces.
- Perform heavy lifting as necessary to move products from delivery pallets to shelves or storage areas.
- Collaborate with team members to manage inventory effectively, including conducting regular stock checks and assisting in inventory management tasks.
- Handle produce items with care, ensuring freshness and quality are maintained.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Proficient in retail math for accurate transaction processing and inventory management.
- Experience using RF scanners for efficient inventory control is preferred.
- Familiarity with operating pallet jacks safely to move heavy items around the store.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role while maintaining safety standards.
- Attention to detail in maintaining clean and organized workspaces.
- Previous experience in retail or stock management is a plus but not required.
