Position Summary
The Preschool Teacher Assistant provides instructional and classroom support to the lead teacher.
to ensure the effective operation of the preschool program. This position promotes a safe, positive, and developmentally appropriate environment for all students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist lead teacher with classroom management, daily activities, and routines.
- Prepare instructional materials and maintain a clean, organized classroom.
- Supervise children during play, snack, and transitions.
- Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce skills.
- Support the implementation of lesson plans and learning activities.
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment aligned with school policies.
- Communicate and collaborate professionally with teachers, staff, and families.
- Model Catholic values and support the mission of Our Lady of Perpetual Help School.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Prior experience working with preschool or early elementary children preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Dependable, collaborative, and able to follow teacher direction.
- Practicing Catholic
Work Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time, 7:30 – 2:30 school-day hours.
- Hourly compensation commensurate with experience.
