SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Duties include inspecting and packing bottles at standard rate on assigned line(s) Responsible for general housekeeping. Assisting in scrap removal and grinding. Will pull plastic. May be required to load a conveyor and pack either blank or decorated bottles. May be required to tape and unitize cartons.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow all the Safety and Quality Guidelines.
- Understands and adheres to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers
- Notify the inspector if any defective parts are noticed
- Pack at standard rate.
- Pack or Palletize production from conveyors systems.
- Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine including mopping if necessary.
- Remove scrap from around the line.
- Rework and repack any defective product when necessary and document appropriate paperwork.
- Initial and date box labels.
- Make out unit tickets.
- Do any other work as assigned by the Supervisor.
EDUCATION:
Required: GED
Preferred: High school diploma
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred:
· Manufacturing experience but not required
SKILLS:
Required: Ability to read, write and communicate orally. Good attention to detail.
Must be dependable, have a good attendance record and be able to understand bottle specifications to assure proper bottle inspection
Visual Inspections on product.
Willingness to work 12 hours on either day or night shifts, weekends, and overtime
Ability to lift 50Lbs.
Having good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors
Preferred: Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
