Responsibilities
- Take dogs on engaging walks tailored to their energy levels and needs, ensuring proper exercise and mental stimulation
- Provide overnight in-home pet sitting to maintain pets’ routines while owners are away, offering comfort and companionship
- Administer pet care tasks such as feeding, administering medication, grooming, and cleaning up after animals
- Handle animal restraint safely during vet visits or grooming sessions, demonstrating confidence and gentle control
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about their pets’ behaviors, routines, and any concerns to ensure transparency and trust
- Manage animal behavior issues with patience and positive reinforcement techniques, including basic dog training when appropriate
- Maintain detailed records of pet activities, health observations, and special instructions for each client in our client portal
Skills
- Proven experience in dog handling, animal handling, or pet care roles with a focus on safety and compassion
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures or veterinary technician/assistant experience that supports responsible animal care
- Familiarity with pet training techniques and understanding of animal behavior patterns
- Ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions while maintaining high energy levels
- Strong client communication skills to build trusting relationships with pet owners
- Experience with pet sitting services including overnight stays and in-home care environments
- Competence in animal restraint methods and administering basic pet care tasks efficiently
