Skilled Heavy Equipment Field Diesel Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Field Diesel Mechanic to join our field service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently in the field. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who is passionate about mechanics and committed to ensuring the reliability and safety of our equipment and fleet.
Our fleet includes off-road heavy equipment as well as on-road equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and heavy equipment
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Conduct inspections to identify potential mechanical or safety concerns
- Repair or replace components such as engines, shocks, struts, and hydraulic systems
- Perform hydraulic system troubleshooting and repairs
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for repairs and fabrication tasks
- Provide tire services including mounting, balancing, and alignment
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of work orders
- Operate forklifts and other equipment as needed
- Work independently in the field using a company-provided service truck
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic
- Valid CDL Class B license
- HazMat Certification (required)
- Must provide own tools necessary to perform job duties
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on diesel experience
- Proficient with electrical diagnostic tools and hand tools
- Experience working with hydraulic systems
- Ability to fabricate parts or components as needed
- Familiarity with tire service procedures and equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
