Kitchen Operations & Sanitation Supervisor (Commercial Kitchen)
Location: Miami, FL
Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Schedule: Typically 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Some Saturdays required with a weekday off (rotating based on kitchen needs).
Pay: $20 – $25 per hour, based on experience and bilingual skills

Reports To: Facilities Manager (who oversees multiple locations)
About the Role
We are hiring a hands-on Kitchen Operations & Sanitation Supervisor to oversee daily cleanliness, safety, and operations of a shared commercial kitchen used by multiple food businesses.
This is an active, on-the-floor role — not a desk job. You will supervise kitchen activity, enforce rules, perform routine cleaning, and ensure the facility stays compliant with health and safety standards. You’ll work closely with our Facilities Manager and serve as the primary daily supervisor for this location.
Facility size: 6,000 sq ft, including 1,200 sq ft walk-in refrigeration and 2 restrooms. NOTE: Deep hood and equipment cleaning is handled monthly by vendors; major equipment repairs are handled by technicians.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Kitchen Operations & Sanitation
- Open, inspect, and monitor kitchen throughout the day
- Clean and sanitize shared prep areas, equipment, floors, and walk-in as needed
- Maintain restrooms and common areas
- Empty trash and manage waste areas
- Log cooler/freezer temperatures and sanitation checks
- Identify safety or sanitation issues and take immediate action
Member Supervision & Rule Enforcement
- Enforce kitchen rules, safety policies, and sanitation standards
- Address improper use of equipment or stations
- Conduct new member orientations and safety walkthroughs
- Handle minor conflicts and escalate issues when necessary
- Document incidents and violations
Maintenance & Vendor Coordination
- Perform light maintenance and janitorial tasks
- Report equipment issues to Facilities Manager
- Assist with scheduling third-party services (hood cleaning, pest control, grease trap, HVAC)
Reporting & Communication
- Complete daily checklists and logs
- Communicate clearly with members, vendors, and management
- Support implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Qualifications
- Experience in commercial kitchens, food service, facilities, custodial, or operations roles
- Comfortable performing physical work (standing, lifting, bending, cleaning)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Able to work independently and make sound decisions
- Reliable and punctual
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
