Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Control Coordinator to support and coordinate manufacturing operations through effective production scheduling, inventory management, and material planning. This role serves as a critical link between production, purchasing, inventory control, sales, quality, and shipping teams to ensure efficient workflow, optimal resource utilization, and on-time customer deliveries. Key Responsibilities
Production Scheduling & Planning
Create, release, maintain, and monitor production work orders to maximize labor and equipment utilization.
Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer requirements and operational goals.
Become proficient in planning and scheduling jobs to support efficient manufacturing operations.
Estimate production times, labor requirements, material usage, and manufacturing methods for new and existing jobs.
Organize and distribute job travelers and production documentation to manufacturing leads.
Inventory & Material Coordination
Monitor raw material, work-in-proc
e
ss (WIP), and finished goods inventory levels.
Track inventory availability and proactively address material shortages to minimize production downtime.
Requisition materials not currently stocked in inventory.
Assist with ordering activities and inventory database maintenance in partnership with Purchasing.
Maintain production records, including cut-up logs and inventory tracking data.
ERP & Data Management
Accurately enter and maintain production routings, procedures, bills of material, schedules, and inventory information within the ERP/MRP system.
Ensure data integrity across production planning, inventory control, and scheduling functions.
Generate and maintain reports, metrics, and records to support production performance and inventory accuracy.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with purchasing to expedite critical materials and components.
Track incoming shipments and communicate material status to production teams.
Serve as a liaison between production leads, quality assurance, purchasing, sales, warehouse, and shipping departments.
Work closely with sales staff to support quoting activities and identify opportunities for improved manufacturing efficiency and profitability.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Review drawings, specifications, dimensions, and tolerances for accuracy before release to production.
Identify production bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve workflow and efficiency.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery performance.
Safety & Housekeeping
Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
Keep workspaces clean, organized, and professional.
Promote a safety-conscious culture throughout manufacturing operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience
1–3 years of experience in production control, production planning, inventory control, supply chain, manufacturing, or related operations preferred.
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, JobBOSS, or similar manufacturing software preferred.
Ability to interpret manufacturing drawings, specifications, dimensions, and tolerances.
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software and processes quickly.

Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics, manufacturing technology, business, or a related field is a plus.
Compensation
Pay Range: $25.00 – $32.00 per hour or higher depending on qualifications and experience (DOE).
