Recreation Aide/Driver Qualifications and Responsibilities:
High School Diploma or equivalent
BA in Recreation/Psychology/CTRS preferred but not required
Experience in long term care and Recreation preferred
Positive and energetic individual with creativity
Ability to work independently or part of a group
Must have a valid driver’s license
Experience driving a 15 passenger bus
Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, social activities, and other destinations
Assist residents in and out of the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort
Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle
Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations
Provide companionship and support to residents during transportation
Communicate effectively with nursing home staff regarding residents' schedules and needs
Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and any incident
Report any vehicle maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
