Job Summary
The Hope Center for Autism is seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality, evidence-based speech and language services to students with autism and related disabilities. This role includes both direct service delivery and supervision of Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs).
The SLP will play a critical role in assessing student needs, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, supporting augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The supervising SLP will also ensure that SLPAs are effectively trained, supported, and providing services in alignment with student IEPs and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Student Services
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and write comprehensive reports
- Develop and implement IEP goals aligned with student needs
- Provide direct therapy services (individual and small group)
- Support development of functional communication, social language, and AAC systems
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to generalize communication skills across settings
Supervision of SLPAs
- Provide direct supervision in accordance with state and ASHA guidelines
- Train SLPAs in therapy techniques, data collection, and use of AAC/visual supports
- Review and co-sign documentation completed by SLPAs
- Monitor fidelity of services and ensure alignment with IEP goals
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional support
Collaboration & Compliance
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school, district, and state requirements
- Collaborate with occupational therapists, behavior analysts, teachers, and families
- Support staff training related to communication strategies and AAC implementation
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Florida SLP license
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or required
- Experience working with students with autism and/or developmental disabilities
- Experience supervising or mentoring SLPAs preferred
- Knowledge of AAC systems, visual supports, and evidence-based practices
- Strong leadership, organization, and collaboration skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move throughout classrooms and therapy spaces
- Ability to sit on the floor, engage with students, and model communication strategies
- Ability to respond to student needs, including behavior support situations

Pay: $44.87 - $54.04 per hour
