Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Banquet Server to join our team at a premier event and hospitality venue. The Banquet Server will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service during events, ensuring that all food and beverage needs are met with efficiency and courtesy. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, delivering memorable experiences to guests while maintaining high standards of hospitality. The ideal candidate will have a background in food service, banquet operations, or hospitality, with a strong focus on guest relations and food handling.
Duties
- Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, ensuring all tables, linens, and service ware are properly arranged.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, adhering to safety and presentation standards.
- Assist with food preparation, plating, and presentation to ensure quality and consistency.
- Buss tables efficiently during events, clearing dishes and maintaining cleanliness throughout service.
- Provide attentive guest service by addressing inquiries, accommodating special requests, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for beverage and food orders.
- Support beverage service including wine knowledge, cocktail preparation, and proper handling of alcohol in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of service areas, including side stations and dining spaces.
- Follow all food safety protocols related to handling, storage, and sanitation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation of events from start to finish.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry or banquet service is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of culinary practices, food handling, and fine dining etiquette.
- Strong guest services skills with the ability to build positive guest relations.
- Experience with catering operations and event setup is advantageous.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for order accuracy and billing purposes.
- Familiarity with wine knowledge and beverage service techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional appearance.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Prior experience using POS systems in a hospitality setting is desirable.
- Demonstrated understanding of food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures.
