Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our construction and renovation team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential, and commercial painting, with a strong understanding of various painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing. This role involves working on diverse projects, including remodeling, restoration, and new construction sites. The Painter will be responsible for delivering high-quality work that meets client specifications and safety standards, utilizing a wide range of tools and materials.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, light plastering, or repairing to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment (including airless paint spraying), and power tools
- Follow blueprints or schematics to achieve precise color matching and finish specifications
- Assist with demolition or removal of old finishes during renovation projects
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols on construction sites
- Estimate material needs and assist with construction estimating when required
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure project timelines are met
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of residential and commercial painting techniques
- Experience with construction estimating and basic math skills for project planning
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as caulking guns, putty knives, brushes, rollers, scrapers, and trowels; familiarity with power tools including airless sprayers and sanders
- Knowledge of surface preparation methods
- Strong understanding of color theory for accurate color matching and aesthetic finishes
- Wallpaper removal
