Aging Services, Inc., a non-profit in Cleveland County is seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Social Services Assistant to join our team. This position is Monday-Friday and is 20-25 hours per week. The hours are 10:00 am-2:00 pm and are flexible as needed. This position plays an important role in helping older adults remain independent by connecting them with programs, resources, and supportive services. This position is $12.02 per hour and mileage is reimbursed at $0.72 per mile. There is also PTO accrued monthly starting at 8 hours per month.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct annual client reassessments.
- Process Special Assistance applications and requests.
- Coordinate referrals for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and other community resources.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Communicate with clients, community agencies, and referral partners.
- Assist clients in navigating available programs and services.
- Research community resources and eligibility requirements.
- Prepare reports and perform data entry as required.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining confidentiality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or related experience preferred.
- Reliable transportation to conduct assessments. Mileage is reimbursed every month at $0.72 per mile.
- Administrative, clerical, or social services experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and respectful service to older adults.
