Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and energetic Deli Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will prepare high-quality sandwiches and other deli items, provide excellent customer service, and maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment. The ideal candidate is friendly, energetic, efficient, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sandwiches, salads, and other deli items according to recipes and customer preferences
- Ensure food quality, freshness, and proper portion control
- Provide exceptional customer service, including greeting customers and handling special requests
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Restock ingredients, rotate products (FIFO), and monitor inventory levels
- Operate cash register and handle transactions
- Follow all food safety guidelines and company policies
- Assist with opening and closing duties as needed
Qualifications
- Must be 16 years of age
- Previous food service or deli experience preferred (but willing to train the right candidate)
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to operate all equipment safely
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Food Service Handling certificate not required but referred.
