Our crews report to our Tonganoxie facility before traveling to residential and commercial properties throughout the surrounding service area.
Base Hourly Pay + Performance Incentives + Tips
- Landscape Technician: $18–$22 per hour
- Experienced Landscape and Pruning Technician: $20–$25 per hour
- Landscape Crew Lead: $22–$26 per hour
- Final base pay is based on experience, equipment skills, plant knowledge, leadership ability and driving record.
- Employees can earn additional performance-based compensation based on productivity, quality, safety and dependable attendance.
- Customer tips are distributed to eligible field employees who performed the work.

Available Positions
Landscape Responsibilities
- Prepare and renovate landscape beds
- Install mulch, decorative rock, soil, edging, plants, shrubs, small trees and sod
- Remove weeds, debris, overgrown plants and existing landscape materials
- Perform light grading, bed shaping and seasonal property cleanup
- Load, secure, transport and unload tools, plants and landscape materials
- Follow written job scopes, material quantities and crew-lead instructions
- Protect lawns, irrigation components, buildings, pavement and existing landscaping
- Maintain a clean, organized and professional jobsite
- Take required before-and-after photos and report site concerns
- Assist with lawn maintenance, snow removal and other seasonal services when needed
Pruning Responsibilities
- Prune shrubs, hedges, ornamental plants and small trees according to company standards
- Remove dead, damaged, diseased, crossing or obstructive branches when within the approved work scope
- Use hand pruners, loppers, hedge trimmers, pole pruners and pruning saws safely
- Operate chainsaws only when properly trained, qualified and authorized
- Establish safe work and drop zones to protect coworkers, customers and property
- Avoid improper topping, excessive removal and damage to plants
- Clean up, haul and properly dispose of branches and landscape debris
- Report hazardous trees, utility conflicts or work requiring an arborist, climber or aerial equipment
This position primarily involves landscaping, shrub pruning and ground-based pruning of ornamental and small trees. Climbing, utility-line clearance and large-tree removal are not included unless an employee is separately trained, qualified, insured and authorized for that work.
Qualifications
- Landscape installation, horticulture or professional pruning experience is preferred
- Entry-level candidates with strong attendance and a willingness to learn will be considered
- Knowledge of proper pruning practices and common plants is strongly preferred for experienced positions
- Crew-lead candidates should have prior leadership or project-management experience
- Experience operating landscape equipment is preferred
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are strongly preferred
- Experience driving a truck and landscape trailer is a plus
- Reliable transportation to our Tonganoxie facility
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, dust, and changing weather
- Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Strong attention to detail and respect for customer property
- Willingness to follow instructions, use required safety equipment, and care for company tools
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- ISA arborist credentials or relevant horticultural certifications are valued but not required
Additional Seasonal Opportunities

Applicants must be able to report reliably to Tonganoxie at the scheduled start time.
