Johnson & Johnson MedTech is looking for a Manufacturing Technician I to join the OTTAVA™ Surgical Robotics Manufacturing team in Santa Clara, CA.This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional interested in electro-mechanical assembly, robotics, and medical device manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities Perform electro-mechanical assembly of robotic modules, joints, control modules, and cable harnesses. Follow engineering documentation, work instructions, and assembly procedures. Perform basic electrical, mechanical, and functional testing using torque tools, multimeters, calipers, and test fixtures. Maintain compliance with ISO 13485, FDA QSR, GDP, ESD, and contamination-control requirements. Document production, inspection, and testing activities in MES, ERP/SAP, and electronic DHR systems. Support line setup, troubleshooting, inspections, material readiness, and inventory activities. Maintain a clean and organized work area following 6S, safety, and quality standards. Develop proficiency and certification on designated manufacturing modules. Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent; 0–2 years of manufacturing/assembly experience. Experience or knowledge of regulated manufacturing environments, GDP, FDA, or ISO standards. Familiarity with torque wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, multimeters, presses, and similar tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekend/evening shifts. Preferred Vocational certificate or technical training. Experience with MES, SAP, ComplianceWire, or similar systems.
