What You’ll Do:
In this key role, you will execute and manage geotechnical project assignments from initial investigation to final report and client communication. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Project Execution: Perform engineering analysis, investigations, and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Field Assignments: Conduct site reconnaissance, test boring inspection, and perform construction inspections.
- Design & Analysis: Evaluate ground conditions; perform shallow and deep foundation designs and slope stability analysis calculations.
- Client Management: Regularly communicate with clients to ensure quality of work and address expectations.
- Management & Mentorship: Develop and manage laboratory testing programs and peer-review reports prepared by engineering staff.
- Business Development: Review requests for proposals and develop/finalize proposals for new projects.
What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a motivated professional with a strong background in soil mechanics and geotechnical analysis.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with a Geotechnical specialty.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical design, calculations, and evaluations.
- Extensive knowledge of geotechnical analysis, laboratory testing of soil, and design recommendations for foundations, landslide remediations, and pavements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of geotechnical engineering software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and design teams.
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
- Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle (required for travel to office and job sites).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania or a Professional Geologist (PG) in Pennsylvania is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical ability to perform field and laboratory testing, frequently lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work in all types of weather conditions.
- Able to work in busy and potentially noisy construction environments while maintaining a high degree of concentration.
